Who is Patricia Puentes?
I’m a mystery romance author and reformed entertainment journalist. After more than sixteen years in California—first in Los Angeles, then in Oakland—and a short stint in Boston, I’m now back in my native Barcelona, adjusting to life (and the reverse culture shock) with my husband and our spoiled dog, Boira.

What is the Sol & Luke Mystery Romance series about?
The Sol & Luke Mystery Romance series follows journalist Sol Novo and detective Luke Contadino through love, danger, and investigations across London, Barcelona, Los Angeles, and other cities, in a witty, fast-paced, reverse age-gap mystery romance. There are two books already published—Cluelessly Unscripted and Scripted for Love and Poison—and Book 3 is coming in Fall 2026.

What is the Confidential Hearts series about?

The Confidential Hearts series features standalone mystery romances with humor, glamorous locations, and interconnected characters. The first book, Love, Lines, and Alibis, is a second-chance whodunnit. Book 2 will be released in Spring 2026.

Do I need to read Patricia Puentes’s books in order?
The Confidential Hearts books can be read in any order. The Sol & Luke Mystery Romance series is best enjoyed chronologically to follow how Sol and Luke meet and fall in love, but each book’s mystery stands on its own and is self-contained.

The Sol & Luke Mystery Romance series includes a reverse age gap (she’s ten years older than him), forced proximity, plenty of banter, humor, and suspense. Love, Lines, and Alibis is a second-chance romance mixed with a whodunnit.

Are your books more romance or mystery?
I always write my books aiming for the perfect balance between romance and mystery. Think of my books as where mystery meets rom-com.

Are your books spicy?
Yes! All my books are open-door romances and include one or two steamy chapters each.
